Pulmonary Medicine

Welcome to the Department of Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care, AIIMS Kalyani, a specialized branch of Medicine that deals with Respiratory system.

Our determination to deliver top notched medical services to the patients is invigorated by advanced diagnostic and interventional modalities to treat pulmonary diseases like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases, Bronchial Asthma, Allergy, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Pleural diseases, Lung malignancy, Pulmonary Hypertension & Sleep disordered breathing etc. We also work in tandem with Government of India to fight against the menace of Tuberculosis by initiating designated services of TB counselling and treatment under NTEP.

Starting from 19th of April, 2022 with outdoor patient services with management of respiratory diseases, we traversed a long way to develop Indoor Patient Services in March 2023.

Our services include management of various pulmonary diseases on OPD and Indoor basis. We provide services like pleural tapping, ICD insertion, bronchoscopy, pulmonary rehabilitation etc. Our department is equipped with diagnostic services like fiberoptic Bronchoscopy, Cardio Pulmonary Exercising Test. Procedures like Bronchoscopy, ICD Insertion, pigtail insertion, pleural tapping, pleurodesis etc. are being done successfully.

Apart from patient services, we are engaged to several research activities and conducted seminar on Tuberculosis on 18th March, a ISSR conference and National Sleep Medicine Course on 29th September to 1st October 2023 which attracted dignitaries all over the country.

Our vision is to provide state of art Pulmonary services to people of West Bengal.
