Dr. Y. K. Gupta is academically and professionally highly accomplished with more than 40 years of experience in service, teaching and research. Dr. Y. K. Gupta is a nationally and internationally renowned Pharmacologist with pioneering contributions in the area of Neuropharmacology with special focus on Clinical Pharmacology, Drug development and Toxicology. Dr. Gupta served at AIIMS, New Delhi, for over 30 years, including roles as Dean Academics, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, and Chief of National Poison Information Centre. He has also served as Director at Indian Institute of Toxicological Research, Lucknow (2003-2005). Currently, he leads as President of the institute body for AIIMS, Jammu.
Dr. Y. K. Gupta has published more than 400 research papers in peer reviewed national and international journals (>17000 Citations with h index 69) and several book chapters. He is recipient of several fellowships and numerous awards for research and clinical excellence. He is a fellow of National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS), National Academy of Science (FNASc), Indian Pharmacological Society (FIPS), and Society of Toxicology India (FST) etc. Presently, he is also serving as National Scientific Coordinator for the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), where he was instrumental in scaling the ADR reporting network centres nationwide. Dr. Gupta’s contributions have significantly shaped Indian medicine safety standards and pharmacological education, making him one of the most respected figures in his field.
