The Department started its OPD services since August 2024. We have two OPD sessions a week. We are working up and treating a wide range of specialized GI surgical cases covering hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, namely chronic & acute pancreatitis, biliary strictures, post cholecystectomy bile duct injury and malignancies like HCC, periampullary & cholangiocarcinoma. We are also treating a sizeable number of upper GI and colorectal malignancies and also benign diseases. In collaboration with Endocrinology Dept we are managing morbid obesity cases. We are starting a Special Clinic-HPB Clinic in the near future and also plan to start a bariatric surgery program. Our department provides dietary counselling to each patient for these GI Surgical cases This aspect of our activity is being done efficiently by our nursing officers at the moment.
