I consider it honour to have been appointed as the Executive Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, (AIIMS) Kalyani, one of the Institutions of National Importance (INIs) in India established by an Act of Parliament and modelled on AIIMS New Delhi. Presently, AIIMS, Kalyani, is at its infancy but the positive attitude of its faculty will help us to flourish and bloom out in flying colours.
Hello World
Jessica Herrin once said, “shaping your culture is more than half done when you hire your team”. In this regard, I am extremely thankful to the founder-director, Dr Gitanjali Batmanabane, who took immense pains in handpicking the team of erudite, efficient, and sincere faculty and I believe my job is half done.
The mission and vision of AIIMS, Kalyani is based on Education, research and patient care, which can be achieved by combined effort of faculty, staff, and students. We as a team hope that the future will adulate us when we shall prove ourselves as a highly versatile provider of a safe and comprehensive suite of health-related services, with a performance-driven approach and a formidable clinical portfolio.
Remembering the most lovable and dynamic person, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam in his words…“ Dream is not what you see in sleep; it is the thing which doesn’t let you sleep”, we as a team are obliged to spend sleepless nights in the hope of providing updated and holistic healthcare for care seekers and consequently increase their quality of life. This state of art centre will give a prudent effort in providing high-quality and affordable healthcare for all sections of the society, perform high-end diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative research and act as an education cum training hub.The ethos of Kalyani, the brainchild of the great Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy as an educational hub, will surely prove as a boon to our students where they will be nourished in the positive vibration of the Kalyani environment, thereby imbibing the culture of self-motivated learning within them.
" let us unite, not in spite of our differences, but through them. For differences can never be wiped away, and life would be so much the poorer without them. Let all human races keep their own personalities, and yet come together, not in a uniformity that is dead, but in a unity that is living."; ~ Rabindranath TagoreI pray to the almighty so that we as a team may deploy our intellect in the right direction with the right intention.
