Department of Anatomy, was one of the first departments to be set up in AIIMS, Kalyani. The department meets all the essential requirements for undergraduate teaching. Faculty members having previous experience from different parts of India and abroad, are enthusiastic about teaching difficult concepts of anatomy in simplified way emphasizing on clinical aspects of anatomy. Along with conventional methods of teaching they have executed innovative teaching methodologies and assessment methods like role play, model making, zig saw, cross word, students’ seminar etc. Students expressed their liking for anatomy teaching several times. Faculty members of the department have keen interest in research with many published scientific research articles to their credit, acted as reviewer of renowned international journals and trained in working with cell culture, genetics, animal facility and medical education. The department looks forward to establish state of art research facilities and anatomy museum as AIIMS Kalyani ascends to the next level of excellence.
