The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Kalyani was started in the year 2021 and is committed to provide highest quality of care for women’s health, strengthening research and imparting highest level of education to undergraduate and postgraduate students admitted at this institute.

Although the department has started its service just a few year back, the department is rapidly expanding its service. We all at the Department are committed to provide respectful maternity care. We have started quality initiatives to improve patient care services and experience. We are doing all types of major Gynaecology surgeries.

As a part of commitment towards the National Family Planning program, the department has an active family planning unit, which offers all the modalities of reversible and permanent methods of contraception.

In its initial few years of starting the service there are several projects in the department ongoing which are funded/ nonfunded including multicentre projects, departmental projects and STS projects.
